CBD Skincare

Cannabidiol, more commonly known as CBD, is becoming one of the most talked about products in the beauty industry, particularly when it comes to skincare. Moisturizers, toners and anti-aging formulas are just several of the now abundant CBD-infused skincare treatments that are available right now. But do they actually work?

CBD is one of the non-psychoactive compounds found in marijuana plants and, if you’ve heard of it, then you’ll probably know that its famous because of the wellness benefits it provides. In saying this, there are lots of other things CBD is good at too – like skincare. Beauty products which are high in CBD are all the rage right now in the fashion community, with celebrity Kim Kardashian even stating that she wanted to throw a CBD-themed baby shower!

OK, But How Can CBD Actually Help My Skin?

The substance, when used as a topical, has an anti-ageing effect in that it is both anti-inflammatory and an anti-oxidant, which essentially means that CBD helps to fight off oxidative stress in the skin. In fact, a doctor from the University of Colorado named Robert Dellavalle claims that CBD can bind to receptors in the skin and so can directly fight inflammation head on. Cool, huh?

As well as helping to fend off aging, CBD can be used to treat a whole bunch of skin conditions such as acne, eczema, and psoriasis – this is incredibly good news as these are ailments that have affected millions of people all over the world.
