CBD Shampoo

CBD is one of the many compounds found within the cannabis plant and boy does it offer some benefits! You’ve likely heard of quite a few of these though, seeing as CBD is taking the medical and beauty communities by storm. However, you may not know that CBD is now being incorporated into shampoos due to the fact that it is said to promote healthy hair growth. Let’s take a closer look at what exactly these new products are, as well as whether or not they actually work:

It is true to say that CBD hasn’t been used in shampoos, or on the hair in general, for very long – at least not in a wide-spread way. For this reason, there really isn’t too much scientific research to back up the claims some brands are making. In saying this, there is quite a bit of evidence to suggest that CBD pairs pretty well with skincare due to the way that it works with the body’s endocannabinoid network.

This information about CBD and skincare is important because it points towards CBD being useful for hair as well, mostly thanks to CBD’s anti-inflammatory properties. Also, because of these properties and many others, it is viable to assume that CBD-infused hair products – like shampoo – could potentially work wonders on the head. For example, CBD oil is packed full of amino acids that are said to improve collagen and elastin levels in the hair, meaning that hair treated with CBD products could become much stronger and thicker.

Sounds good. But what else can CBD do?

CBD has the potential to provide a boost to hair in a whole host of ways, one of these being that it may help to improve moisture levels. CBD is able to do this because it has lots of fatty acids in it, such as omega 3, which all aid in maintaining moisture. Furthermore, CBD hair products have the potential to stimulate growth and maintain hair colour, as well as provide a protective barrier around the hair – all thanks to the antioxidants and amino acids located within the compound!

To conclude, while there hasn’t been a crazy amount of research done on CBD hair products thus far, I think its fair to say that the anecdotal evidence that has been found so far is pretty interesting. To test out whether it works for yourself, why don’t you make it at home? Or, if that sounds like too much work, why don’t you try the Hemptouch CBD-infused shampoo that can be found right here on our website? Whichever way you try it out, make sure to let us know whether or not it worked for you in the comments down below!
